VKS (d)-EMPELLA 1998/1999

Small Dutch Cyclocross team with Erik Boezewinkel, Wim de Vos and Gretienus Gommers.

In the 1999/2000 cyclocross season, Manager Hans van Kasteren (Owner of Asbestos Removal Company VKS) started the SPAARSELECT Cyclocross Team in Belgium.

From VKS-EMPELLA, Wim de Vos made the switch to Spaarselect. In the following years, this team grew into the most successful cyclocross team in the world, with many world champions and national champions under the team names Spaarselect, Fidea, Telenet, Baloise-Trek, etc. In the first few years, he also still used an EMPELLA bike.
